Dotti & Cub operates on the belief that it’s everyone’s responsibility to protect the planet for the future of our little ones. We are far from perfect but we do consciously make decisions with the planet in mind.

Here is how we are trying to do the best we can, at the point we’re at in business to bring you quality products, whilst keeping the environment in mind.

 

Natural fibre fabrics:

Our garments are made with 100% natural fibre fabrics free from chemically laden synthetic fibre fabrics such as nylon, polyester, acrylic and rayon.

A natural fibre fabric is one that is made from a naturally occurring fibres such as plants. As well as being environmentally sustainable, most natural fibre fabrics are biodegradable, moisture-wicking, breathable, durable, heat resistant and naturally repellent to mould and dirt.

They are the fabrics of choice for environmentally conscious fashion brands.

We are consistently evaluating new products on the market as alternative to synthetic trims such as elastics and look forward to a future where we can also use natural trim products in our designs.

 

Compostable and reusable mailers:

We want to provide you with an unboxing experience that isn’t tarnished by excessive amounts on non-recyclable plastics.

Our mailers are made from mostly plant-based materials and a certified compostable material called PBAT (corn starch and bonding agents). This means you can remove any external stickers and pop them in the compost.

Alternatively, when you receive your package, cut along the line on the flap and re-use it with the second adhesive (glue) strip.

 

Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) certified paper and stickers:

Our environment focus continues with the finer packaging details. Our tissue paper, stickers, bow display cards and thank you cards are printed on high quality paper certified by the Forest Stewardship Council. This means, the paper we have used can be traced back to certified forest that meet the highest environmental and social standards.  

 

Our tissue paper and stickers:

Our tissue paper and stickers are printed with soy-based inks, on certified paper, and is acid, sulphur, and lignin-free. They are 100% compostable, recyclable, and made from recycled materials.

 

Shipping offset:

We try to produce our designs well in advance and avoid multiple bulk shipments throughout the year. Typically, we receive bulk shipments of stock two or three times a year. These are shipped by boat when it’s possible, and carbon emissions are offset when it’s not.

 

Global Eco-Packaging Alliance:

Dotti & Cub partners with packaging suppliers that are part of the Eco-Packaging Alliance. This means, for every order Dotti & Cub make with our aligned packaging partner, they plant trees for us all in global areas of need.

Whilst we are proud to share the small steps we are taking to support our environment in business, we hope for more positive steps in the future. We have big plans to progress the use of organic materials, give back to charity partners and eventually, be a certified B corporation company.
